Memorial Day Community Celebration
Wingfield Ministries, Inc., is closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19. To ensure the safety of our community, this Memorial Day event may be postponed or cancelled entirely. A determination will be made closer to the event date.
Join us for the 8th annual Memorial Day Community Celebration, held at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg, VA, at 4 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020. There will be something for everyone with live bands, a classic car cruise-in, inflatables, a puppet show, and much, much more!
The Memorial Day Community Celebration is a time to celebrate faith, family, friendship, and freedom; and, more importantly, it is a time to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom.
If you are interested in learning how to partner with Wingfield Ministries, Inc., during this special event, scroll to the bottom of the page to checkout our Resources section. There you will find details about becoming an event sponsor or to attend the event as an arts & crafts vendor.
The Afters, a Dove Award-winning Christian group, will be headlining the Memorial Day Community Celebration. They are renowned for such songs as “Light Up the Sky” and “Fear No More.”
Jessica Crawford is a sunshine seeker, hot tea drinker, music maker, and Bridgewater, Virginia, native. For the past decade, she has been on a God-inspired adventure of ministry and music that included five years in Nashville as an inner-city missionary and singer/songwriter followed by two years as Worship Arts Director for a large church in New Jersey. After years out of state, she is happy to be living in the Shenandoah Valley again and enjoys serving New Beginnings Church of Harrisonburg as Head of Worship. She will be joined by members of the New Beginnings Worship Team to open the Memorial Day festivities.
Blue Mountain Sunrise has been playing in the Shenandoah Valley and beyond for over 40 years. Fans can often find them playing at festivals, family reunions, corporate and private parties, church services, or on live radio and TV appearances.
Micala Curry is a contemporary Christian/Country artist from Dayton, VA. She is a senior at Turner Ashby High School and is part of the worship team at Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene. She started singing in church at the age of 4 or 5, and she is currently featured on a local television show, Virginia Dreams Center Stage.
Micala has had her share of challenges in life, but her faith has made her stronger. Four years ago, Micala was diagnosed with CHD (Congenital Heart Disease). She needed to have open-heart surgery to correct an anomalous right coronary artery. Throughout the healing process, she was able to teach herself how to play the guitar and joyfully uses her talents to sing and praise His name.
